The Avalon School is pleased to welcome international students to live and study in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Students from Italy, China, Spain, Vietnam and Sierra Leone have called Avalon their academic home. International students reside with an Avalon School host family. This family will provide living quarters, meals and a family away from home for the visiting student.
The Avalon School is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
Submit a completed and signed application form, an English translated transcript for the current and previous academic school years, two letters of recommendation in English (preferably from Math and English teachers.), a copy of the student’s valid passport, and an individual and family photograph.
After all the completed forms are received from the above step, we will schedule a Skype interview with the student at a mutually agreeable time. After the interview an admissions decision will be made within 24 hours.
If the student is accepted, the family will receive an acceptance letter and a contract. When the family returns the signed contract and deposit, The Avalon School will create and send the student’s I-20 via Federal Express.
